General News for both parishes (unless stated)

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 13TH - 19TH MAY. Volunteers are urgently needed to help with this week's house-to-house collection. If you can spare a couple of hours to deliver and collect envelopes, please talk to Catherine Salmon (872580) or Gerald Crowley (875859) who will be very pleased to hear from you. Volunteers are also needed to help with the Cake Stall on the morning of Saturday 19th. Thank you.

PRAY FOR SCHOOLS WEEK. Make every school a prayed for school. Tuesday 15th May Windhill Churches Centre, Bishops Stortford at 8pm hosted by Stort Valley Schools Trust. Friday 18th May 14 Venmore Drive, Dunmow at 1pm hosted by Jo Hargrave. EVERYONE WELCOME!

Please do come along and find out what is going on in our local schools and how your prayers can make a difference. For more information call Jo tel: 872995

UCT SPONSORED WALK. A sponsored walk around Cambridge, in aid of UCT, is taking place on Saturday, 16th June, leaving Dunmow at 8.30am and returning at approximately 5.00pm. Free transport from Dunmow to Trumpington Park & Ride is available. If you would like to join this 5-6 mile walk please contact David Rose (873269) or Keith Barber (238363).

NEW SIDESPEOPLE ARE REQUIRED AT ST MARY'S. A number of our Sidespeople have had to step down for one reason or another, and it would be really helpful to replace them. Is this something you could help with? You can indicate whether the 9.00am or the 10.30am Services are best for you - and you'll be unlikely to be needed more than twice a quarter. And, if you're on the Bible Reading Rota, we'll arrange it so that you are on duty on the same day. If you're interested in exploring what this is all about, please contact Keith Barber (238363) or speak with either of the churchwardens.

MEETING OF SIDESMEN. You are invited to attend a meeting of Sidesmen on Wednesday 30th May, @ 8:00 p.m. in the church. There will be no formal agenda, but the duties of sidesmen will be discussed and new guidelines issued. We do hope that you will be able to attend, Vera Davies, David Rose & Keith Barber.

    COFFEE ROTA

13th May: Cynthia & Keith Barber
20th May: Elaine Peck & Elsie Bouffler
27th May: Jo Hargrave & Nigel Dodd
3rd June: Sue & David Walker
