General News for both parishes (unless stated)
TOWN CAROL SERVICE. At 3.30pm today in the Foakes Hall people from all over the town and local villages will gather for the Town Carol Service arranged by the Churches Together in Dunmow. Some music will be provided by Dunmow Primary School choir, and the congregational singing will be accompanied by Pete Bowler. Fr. Martin Nott will preach, and everyone will join in familiar Carols. So, come let us adore Christ, the new-born King.
EILEEN BELL writes: I am deeply grateful to everyone for their prayerful support, and wish you all a very happy Christmas. I am not sending Christmas cards this year as the money will be used to buy urgently needed mosquito nets for Malawi.
CONGRATULATIONS. Last week-end's Christmas Bazaar in Barnston Village Hall raised £930 for St Andrew's church funds. A terrific result that puts the icing on the cake. The day itself was a joyful exercise of team-work as so many people pulled together, under Eva Percival's direction, to make the Bazaar a success. Well done, and thank you, to everyone involved.
FAITH IN ACTION's Gifts with a Difference leaflets are now available. Just the inspiration that's needed for the person who has everything! However, please check with Jay about current prices - the recent fall in the value of Sterling has increased the cost of all these Gifts.
