STONE CONSERVATION WORKSHOP DAY, SATURDAY 18 JULY 10AM -4PM. Artist and skilled stone conservator, Antonia Hockton will be running a one day Stone Conservation workshop in St. Mary's Churchyard which will teach people how to care for stone monuments. If you have an interest in local history and you want to learn new skills in conservation work this day could be for you. The workshop will be practical and hands on. All materials are provided, you just need to come in strong sensible shoes and old clothes. If you would like to know more, or to book a place, please call Catherine on 01371 859767.

ONE TIRED CYCLIST, ONE SORE BEHIND, TWO WOBBLY LEGS, LOTS OF DONATIONS. On Saturday 26th July, Gwynn Davies is riding his bike from London to Cambridge to raise funds for his two Mayoral charities - Alzheimer's Society (Uttlesford) and Accuro Care Services. Details of the two charities are available at the back of church - together with Gwynn's Sponsor Form.
HOLIDAY CLUB 2009 - COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th August. 9.30am - 12pm @ URC Hall. £2.00 per session per child. Collect registration form from school reception OR The 31st August shop OR contact Jo on 872995.
YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY CAKES. This is the cry of those who will be preparing to sell cakes at the Countess of Warwick Show at the end of August. We move mountains of cakes - so we need to ask our faithful cake bakers to start baking very soon. Cakes can be stored in freezers until the Show week-end. RIDE & STRIDE. This year's Friends of Essex Churches Sponsored Ride & Stride takes place on Saturday September 12th. Walk or cycle round Essex and East London churches to raise money for your church or chapel, and the Friends of Essex Churches Trust. Further details and sponsor forms for St. Mary's and St Andrew's can be obtained from David Rose (873269) or Eva Percival (876510).
FIRST-AID CERTIFICATES. If you hold a current First Aid Certificate, and will be willing to be called upon to assist someone who is unwell in church, could you please give your name to Sue Pegrum. Thank you.
