HOLIDAY CLUB 2009 - COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th August. 9.30am - 12pm @ URC Hall. £2.00 per session per child. Collect registration form from school reception OR The 31st August shop OR contact Jo on 872995.
TIME TO GET ON WITH THE BAKING. In order to be ready with sufficient cakes to sell at the Countess of Warwick Show at the end of August, the bakers need to get baking, and the freezers need to be filled. We move mountains of cakes - so we need to get started. Further information, and ideas from Vera Davies. Sign yourselves up to join the band of sellers, too.
PARTY WITH A DIFFERENCE. SEPTEMBER 6TH, 3.30PM - 5.30PM. Families who have had children baptised in the last year are being invited to a child-friendly puppet-led Service followed by tea & games in the Vicarage garden. We would love church people to help with activity games for the children, and to prepare & serve tea for everyone. Offers of help to Mary Jensen (873100) or Jay Ainge (873504). Thank you.
NEWS FROM GWYNN THE BIKE. I completed the London-to-Cambridge Bike Ride with my son Huw and 4000 other riders. It was an excellent day for cycling, dry and sunny but not hot. The route is best described as undulating, and it would be fair to say that I was pleasantly fatigued at the end. When all the monies are collected there should be over £750. I would like to thank everyone for contributing so generously to the Mayor's two charities.
RIDE & STRIDE. This year's Friends of Essex Churches Sponsored Ride & Stride takes place on Saturday September 12th. Walk or cycle round Essex and East London churches to raise money for your church or chapel, and the Friends of Essex Churches Trust. Further details and sponsor forms for St. Mary's and St Andrew's can be obtained from David Rose (873269) or Eva Percival (876510)
