50 years’ Service

On 29th November 1959 Peter Street was ordained at Birmingham Cathedral – so, on 29th November 2009 he will celebrate 50 years as a Church of England minister.  What a brilliant achievement, and a wonderful landmark to achieve. Much of this has been made possible by the unstinting support of his wife, Barbara.

Peter is one of Dunmow’s characters. He’s been around here for many years, and so is known to lots of people. He has been at the heart of many of the important features of our town’s life and culture. His influence is great, and spans both church and civic communities – so much so that, last year, he received the Town Award.

On Sunday 29th November, at 6.00pm, St Mary’s church is likely to be packed to the rafters with people coming to mark his Anniversary at  a very special Evening Service. If you’d like to come, you’ll be very welcome.

Congratulations Peter. Thanks for all you’ve done in God’s name, and for the good of all his people.
