Eat together – and stay together
There is an old maxim about a family that eats together staying together. It may sound simplistic, but check it out – there’s something really good about timing meals so that everyone in the household can eat at the same time.
The Churches of Barnston and Great Dunmow discovered this truth many years ago, and made sure that a shared meal would be one part of their pattern of life in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
On Friday 15th January, members of the local churches will gather at the United Reformed Church for this year’s Unity Supper. The afterdinner speaker will be the Rev. Lee Batson, formerly on the staff at Saffron Walden Parish Church and now the Ecumenical Officer for Essex and East London. Tickets for the meal, costing £5 per person, are available from David Ainge 872504 or Pam Cheal 872577.
