General News for both parishes (unless stated)
Residential Homes. Every month we take Services in 7 Residential Homes in Great Dunmow, for a total of about 70 people. Some Services are Communions, others are Hymn Services. The residents who come to these Services value this external link enormously. Sometimes there are 2 or 3 people who go to take the Services - sometimes it's just 1. If you would like to come along to meet the people, talk about this and that, and help just by being there - please speak to David Ainge.
Friends of Dunmow Clinic. Next Saturday, 27th February, the Friends of Dunmow Clinic have their Fun Music Quiz in the Foakes Hall. The doors open at 7.00pm, and the Quiz starts promptly at 7.15pm - so you'll need to get your skates on. Tickets cost £8 per person, and there are 8 seats on each table. The cost includes a ploughman's supper, but not drinks - so bring your own and the glasses for them. Tickets are available from Claire Reeve (873768), and further information from Sue Pegrum.
Topical Studies in Lent. Churches Together in Dunmow has arranged a remarkable set of speakers to lead our three sessions of Lent studies. Under the overall heading of "All Change on the Weather Front" they will help us to understand some of the issues relating to Climate Change. They are all experts, but they are also people of the people - they speak so that all may understand.
February 24th 8pm at St Mary's church. Voices from the sharp end - David Muir of Christian Aid.
March 11th 8pm at St Anne Line's RC church. The Bible, Creation and sustainability - Fr David Clark
March 24th 8pm at URC church. Hope in God's future, Christian discipleship in the context of climate change - Rev Mike Shrubsole
March 29th 8pm at St Anne Line. Stations of the Cross
