These include Annabel, Derek & Joan Carruthers, the Couzens family, Maisie Crow, Sally Gallagher, Harry Glennie, Guy Gowlett, Ann Graham, Ray Hook, Ewan Jackson, Thelma Jennings-Smith, Nora Lewis, David Lloyd, Peter McShane, Mukta Morzaria, Cyril Owers, Pam Panalver, Vic Pegrum, Joan Pesikaka, Margaret Prosser, the Salmon family, Keith Silver, Caroline Smith, the Turner family, Diana Wait, Janet Wingfield & Jason Woollard.
  • Please pray for the families & friends of the late Pearl Bailey, Ann Burns & David Punt.
  • Please pray for the clergy under current pressures of work and ministry.
  • Please pray for the Annual Church Meetings this week, and for the election of the churchwardens and church councillors.

General News for both parishes (unless stated)

NOMINATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ANNUAL MEETINGS. TODAY and on the 28th April respectively St Andrew's and St Mary's will be holding their Annual Parochial Church Meetings. Nominations are now needed for electing our Churchwardens and Parochial Church Councillors, and filling casual vacancies in our Deanery Synod representation. Please think, pray and consider very carefully who you would like to nominate to these positions.

A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE TODAY, at 3pm in St Mary's, for those in our parishes who have been bereaved to remember those who have died recently. Details are available in both churches, or by telephone from Shirley Walker (872310).

COPPER FLOOR TILES. As part of the very attractive programme of artistic work in association with the Diary of a Country Churchyard, St Mary's is displaying the very attractive copper floor tiles designed by Grenville Davey. When you come forward for Communion you will not fail to see them! Enjoy them while they're here.

CHARITY OF THE YEAR. The Dunmow Stroke Club has been nominated to be one of the Saffron Walden Building Society's Charities of the year. However, the decision to support the Club depends on the local support indicated to the Building Society. This can be done by registering a vote in their High Street office, or by visiting their website www.saffronbs.co.uk/members/community/charities.php and voting there. This is a very easy way of supporting a local charity.

HELP WILL SOON BE NEEDED. On Sunday 27th June the families who have had children baptized since last summer will be coming to a special Party with a Difference - a puppet-led all-action Service followed by games, stories and tea in the Vicarage garden. Adult help will be needed to supervise and serve. Jay Ainge and Mary Jensen are organizing this event, and they'd love to know who will be able to help them on the day. Please let them know as soon as possible if you can help.

COFFEE ROTA 25th April: Tom Deakins & Jo Hargrave 2nd May: Sue & Kim Pegrum
9th May: Mandy & Patrick Whittick 16th May: Elaine Peck & Elsie Bouffler
