General News for both parishes (unless stated)

WELCOME PHILIP. At 11.15am today, Philip Tarris will be Ordained at Chelmsford Cathedral, and will then join the staff team here at St Mary's & St Andrew's. He will continue to work full-time as the Administrator at the Cathedral, and will offer his free time as an ordained minister with us. Please pray for Philip as he prepares to join us - and come to next Sunday morning Services to meet him.

HYMNS & PIMMS. Come along this evening at 6.00pm and enjoy a terrific evening of hymn-singing, story-telling and great hospitality. Already, by virtue of the hymns that have been sponsored, the evening has been a great success.

HELP NEEDED. The Faith in Action Container is almost ready to be dispatched to Malawi. Next Thursday morning the 600+ apple boxes accumulating in the store in East Suffolk need to be handled into the hired sea-worthy Container. Can you help? The car(s) will leave the Vicarage at 8.30am and expect to be back again by about 1pm. If you can help, please tell Jay today.

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW FOR ST ANDREW'S EXTRA SPECIAL CONCERT. Tickets, costing £10 each, are now available for The Flutes of Love Concert at St Andrew's on Saturday 31st July. A glorious evening of Early English Music and refreshing drinks & fresh fruit kebabs in the interval will make this an evening to remember.

CHURCHES TOGETHER IN DUNMOW - FAMILY PICNIC. 4th August, 12 noon-2pm, St Mary's Centre & Churchyard. Open invitation to everyone - come and enjoy the space, company, craft and Christian puppet show. More details from Jo Hargrave 872995. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC.

CAKES NEEDED (for August 29th & 30th). It will soon be the Countess of Warwick's Show - yes another year has flown by. St Mary's will, again, be providing the Cake Stall and Refreshment Stall - and raising essential funds for the church accounts! Hundreds of cakes are needed. Vera Davies has all the details.
